Too some of my freshwater fish have a cotton-like spots on the body, pls help.?
I lost three with him and my shop animals, says its due to stress (although I doubt it) My tank is about 50litres, I have ten small fish in it, water is an appropriate age and levels of PH, despite constantly have to adapt to a high pH, are on site and I also have a neutralizing block here! I recently bought two guppies painted angels, and now an angel and white matter have guppies too! I tried a salt bath, but I'm not sure how long leave it there or how many times! Any help would be greatly appreciated because they do not want to lose more! Frankman Greetings!
A look tinted wool does not look like me ICH. Most people describe it as resembling salt ICH was sprinkled on the fish. I think it Columnaris good or fungi. Both produce a cotton or wool, such as appearance and can be difficult to distinguish, but it is important because treatments are very different. The best way to distinguish them is that columnaris always grows in a circular round spot while the fungus rarely done. Columnaris is also white pearl or opalescent, while the fungus is more flat, greyish white. Columnaris can occur at any part of the fish body and have not been documented cases of laboratory, it is a systemic infection in width, or body. It is very easy to treat because it responds While only a very limited number of antibiotics. The best treatment for columnaris is Furanace. He is the only known antibiotic that treatment surface and internal infection and parts to be processed only if it becomes systemic. Other treatments are generally harsh, with copper sulfate, potassium permanganate Oxolinix acid. Facing Furanace for 2 weeks to be sure of getting rid of the disease. Columnaris not respond well to a salt bath, in general, and in general does not recommended. – Mushrooms Hopefully that's what they have and the chances are good it is. Fungus is treatable and responds well to drugs commonly used malachite green ick. There several antifungal drugs also contain malachite green and work very well. Deal until they saw signs of the disease for 5 days. Hongo reprobed well enough to a bath of 2% salt. Leave the fish no more than 3 minutes, but watch carefully and remove the bath if she seems stressed. Malachite green is a popular warning carcinigen be very careful not to go for your skin! Hope this helps MM
